2018 may seem off in the distance, but it is coming up fast. In order to insure we have space reserved for Troop 188 scouts at the Winter Survival Training on January 27, 2018, scouts HAVE to be signed up by the end of September. Sign up sheets are on the back table during troop meetings so be sure to get signed up at either on Sept 18 or Sept 25 troop meeting as they cap the event at 300 scouts and it has maxed out for the past few years as it is so popular. We will meet at Iowa State in Ames (Pammel Drive and Russel Road) that morning at 8:15 am to give us time to check in and get ready for the day. Dress warm as scouts will be outdoors all day until 3 pm that afternoon. The event is $ 20.00 plus a $ 10.00 dollar grub fee as we will be eating supper & breakfast at Bear Creek Lodge at Mitigwa after the event is over to do sledding or night hike, sleep at Bear Creek Lodge, and then depart Sunday morning from Mitigwa.
If you have any photos from campouts or other scout functions please email them to me (Evan) or the troop account so they can get added to the website.
Logan and Jake's Eagle Project will be held Sunday November 13th from 12:00 - 4:00 pm at Ankeny First United Methodist - Faith Chapel at 7384 NW 16th Street Ankeny, Iowa 50023. Also, if anyone has any tools that Logan or Jake can borrow please respond to Logan at [email protected] or for Jake at [email protected]. Thanks. Also, remember that hours worked on Eagle Projects count toward service hours.
