Our next camp out is scheduled for Sept 23-25. This camp out was originally planned to be the horse riding camp out, but due to some logistical challenges we are going to have to plan that outing for a later date. Unfortunately, the locations that we were looking at for that activity were not capable of handling a group as large as ours. We will continue to look into getting this setup and will let everyone know when we have more information.
The location for our next camp out is going to be Yellow Banks Park just south of Pleasant Hill. This location was chosen as the alternate location because it is so close to Ankeny. There is a BSA adult leader training on Sept 24th, so being close to Ankeny will allow our adult leaders the option of going on the camp out as well as attending the adult leader training session. Yellow Banks Park also has good hiking options available to us which will allow the Scouts the chance to complete the hiking requirements that they need for rank advancement. If you are interested in going on this event then please plan to sign up for it at Monday's Troop meeting on 9/12. We'll need to get this activity organized during the next two Troop meetings, so please plan to come prepared to sign up for the Yellow Banks camp out.
